Erupting Mind is about the feeling of knowing too much and becoming overwhelmed by it. I used the split-open head and exposed brain to make that pressure feel physical instead of hidden. The hardest part was the coat because I wanted the folds and wrinkles to feel heavy and believable. I used a mark-making approach I developed myself with Micron pen to build the fabric without relying on one standard shading technique. This piece contributes expressive figure work to my portfolio through the strained pose, facial expression, and the tension between the body and the exposed mind.
