Faces of Judgment was my first real experiment with high-contrast shadows. I repeated my own face because I wanted judgment to feel internal, like different versions of the same pressure staring back at me. At first, I planned to make the background completely black, but it felt too flat and controlled. I changed it into a looser, messier fade so the faces would push out of the darkness instead of sitting inside a hard border. That decision made the dark space feel connected to the figures, almost as if it were creating them. I used Micron pen, stippling, and solid black shapes to make each face feel sharper and more accusing. The piece became less about people judging me and more about what happens when that judgment is already inside my own head.
