Most Incongruent Artist comes from a contradiction I still do not completely understand. My artwork does not always earn my strongest grades in school, but some of the same work has won competitions and received awards outside of school. The trophy represents the pride of being recognized, while the title keeps that moment from feeling simple. I added the swirling background mainly to create movement; it is not meant to carry a hidden symbol. The hardest problem was the hand. I had to make the anatomy believable while showing that it was actually gripping and supporting the trophy. I also controlled the highlights and dark values carefully so the trophy would read as reflective metal instead of a flat object.
