Ability without Direction was created as a visual counterpart to my competitive dance solo, Artist's Block. It came from having too many ideas and not knowing what to do with them. The figure is me, so the piece is also a self-portrait. I wanted it to look controlled while everything around it felt messy and unstable. I used stippling for the figure and different inking techniques for the background.
