Covetousness

Covetousness: a watercolor scene of a doll-like figure lying across a pale ledge while a large dark red hand reaches upward in the foreground, surrounded by pink organic forms and rough gray stone shapes.

Covetousness is about destroying yourself by always reaching for what you do not have. The figure is weak and falling apart, but still reaches toward something it wants. I left the object unclear because different people want different things. This was my first time layering fineliner pen over watercolor. I used watercolor for the larger areas of color, then added pen to sharpen the figure and bring out the smaller details.
