Infested by Inaction is about showing how doing nothing over a long period of time can slowly overtake you. I wanted to show the final result of complete inaction instead of only making someone look tired. I started painting directly on the canvas without making a sketch first. That let me figure out the skull, worms, and composition as I worked. I used green and blue because they made the decay look stranger and less natural.
